Family Season is Open! | Chilliwack Family Photographer

With the Fall, comes the busiest season for Family Photographers. It's that time of the year when families are back in a regular routine, and want a nice portrait for their Christmas cards - one that is taken amongst the beautiful Fall colours and before the weather gets bad.

Now, I'm not sure if anyone else does this, but when I think of "Family Season", it always reminds of that old Looney Toons cartoon where Bugs & Daffy fight over whether its Duck Season or Rabbit Season! Ahhh... the memories... oh... no-one else? Just me, then?

OK... moving on...


Well, my Fall has also started filling up with family sessions. including this lovely bunch. These boys are the same ages as my girls - and I can't believe how big they are getting now. I remember when they were both iddy biddy babies!! Sigh... I guess this is another reminder of how you need to treasure and record these moments before they fly by...

I can't believe how fast the past 6 months have flown by... and how much bigger this little man has got in that time! He was back in the studio recently, to celebrate his first half year milestone.

I had the honour of photographing two of this little chap's cousins, when they arrived last summer, so it was particularly lovely to welcome him into the studio as well. Not only is he a good-looking and smiley little fella, but he was also very well behaved for his session. Of course, this makes my job easier but does have the side effect that I get less cuddles.. oh well, can't have it all, I guess!

I am a September baby... so I love September! I love the return to routine as the kids go back to school, I love the just-right temperature and I love love love the evening sunsets and the fabulous lighting they can produce for portrait sessions!

Well, to celebrate my birth month approaching, I am giving a special gift to all the brand new little people who are going to share this birth month with me... please feel free to share this info with anyone you know expecting in September. :-) (But hurry... because of the unpredictable nature of baby arrivals, I can only reserve a limited number of Newborn sessions in a month, to accommodate this date juggling.)

I was really excited to see these little men again! You may recall that I visited them in the NICU, a month ago, after they had decided to make a very early entrance. Well, at the grand old age of 5 weeks, they are doing fantastically well, and were finally able to pop in for their official Newborn Session. Of course, they brought their fabulous family along... which included an equally-cute 2 year-old big brother, who took the prize for the best behaved toddler to ever visit the studio! Enjoy these highlights from our session...
